I was brand new to Dayton and knew no one. Divine intervention lead me to an ad for an improv class at the Black Box Theater. Took a chance and loved it. Met some great people and had a lot of laughs taking classes. I am more of a class taker than performer and can’t wait for my next class.

What I didn’t expect was the amazing relationships I made along the way during our practice sessions, and a noticeable improvement in my communication skills. In my career I end up leading a lot of technical calls that can run long without everyone on the same page. I’ve found myself applying the lessons learned from Black Box improv right there on the calls and the communication is much clearer with a more productive and quicker result.
